“Dancing in the rain”

She could hear her own breathing. She was so scared that she totally forgot where she was going. She had started to run so fast that her heart was beating in an insane way.
Now she found herself in the middle of nowhere. The forest was so big like her fear of not being able to run away.
She was almost in her forties, divorced with no children, alone and sad.
Her loneliness was turning her into a ghost. She hadn't any friends now. Her supposed friends left her when she got divorced. They were all happily married with children and her sadness wasn't really good company for their lives.
She decided to move away from the city to erase the pain of being nobody for everybody. Her family wasn't really happy with her mistake because for them a divorce was something unforgettably wrong.
Now she started looking at every tree that was in front of her. They were really old but strong which made her wish she could have that strength.
Each step she had made in her life took her to be standing here.
She continued running faster than what her feet were used to when walking in the mornings. So she started to lose her way. She tripped over a stone and fell on the ground.
Unexpectedly some tiny little drops started falling on her face. First she thought she had begun to cry but then she realized she wasn't. When the rain became turning stronger she started to laugh so loud the whole forest could hear her.
She was there alive, standing under the rain, tasting each drop of water that fell on her tongue. She started to dance in circles like in the old days when she was a kid and she used to dance all the time secretly in front of the mirror in her room without music. But now she could hear the birds singing for her,
Finally the rain stopped and she looked at the sky where there was a rainbow of hope. “Life isn't so easy or so hard, but just the way you want it to be,” she said, smiling to herself.
